The 2004-05 Boston Celtics finished the regular season with a record of 45-37, finishing third in the NBA's Atlantic Division. The team was led by Paul Pierce, who averaged 21.6 points per game. Other key contributors included Antoine Walker (18.4 ppg), Ricky Davis (16.7 ppg), and Rajon Rondo (7.3 assists per game). The Celtics advanced to the playoffs, where they lost to the Indiana Pacers in the first round.

In the 2005-06 season, the Celtics improved their record to 49-33, but again finished third in the Atlantic Division.
